Biograd na Moru is a small town but with a big history. It was founded by Croats in the 10th century (around the time when, according to Romanian historians, Alba Iulia became the capital of a Romanian state united in the Carpathian arc - Wallachia Trans Siuana) and was, for most of its existence, the capital of the Croatian rulers also being a place of great religious importance. The cities twinned in 2011.
